Terminology: Master
A Microsoft PowerPoint master defines the layouts, variation of layouts, color schemes, sizes (format), fonts and general function of the PowerPoint template. If a shop sells templates that works for versions 1997-2010, you can be sure that it is only presentation graphics and not a functional slide master template in the terms that Microsoft defines. For this reason the PowerPoint version you are using is very important to get the full functions running.
